    PRESIDENT/CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

    Organized and led an entrepreneurial buyout of the jacquard woven fabrics division from Tietex International, Ltd. and merged group with yarn package-dye company Burlington Manufacturing Services (BMS). Created Se7en brand of fabrics and formed new company Burlington Technologies, Inc. (BT) to assimilate vertical capabilities and new businesses under BT umbrella. As key owner and executive at start-up, hired and managed all functional areas, including manufacturing, finance, design, marketing and sales. Pursued and attained private equity and bank financing for business and acquisition capital. Created $25 million revenue diversified business consisting of yarn-dyeing and woven fabric core competencies produced at facilities of approximately one million square feet.   • 2002 – 2009 | TIETEX INTERNATIONAL, LTD. | Spartanburg, SC

    PRESIDENT – INTERIORS DIVISION

    Directed and negotiated divestiture of the residential fabrics group from Burlington Industries to stitch-bond textile producer Tietex International. New division Tietex Interiors was responsible for design, manufacture, marketing and selling of residential and contract fabrics. Also managed a commission finishing business across multiple facilities in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Working with R&D, utilized stitch-bond technology to create new a new breed of fabric formation velvets branded as Murena. Grew sales 20% a year for five continuous years creating a $49 million business for the parent company.

    Developed the marketing strategy for Burlington’s relatively new residential upholstery business. Performed industry structural analysis. identified target customers, key price points, and new distribution channels. Restructured independent representatives into inside sales force for U.S. and Canadian business. Improved customer on-time delivery 33% by establishing a forecast and level production program. Launched new JIT promotional program which increased customer base by 43%, and grew sales 38%. P&L responsibility included design, marketing and sales for a $100 million fabrics division.

    STRATEGY CONSULTANT

    Conducted business review for consumer goods photography company. Determined effectiveness of marketing mix utilizing multi variable linear regression modeling. Made recommendations for the 1990 business plan. The review was adopted and institutionalized in all divisions of the marketing organization.

  • 1981 – 1988 | THE PROCTER & GAMBLE COMPANY | U.S. and Canada

    Held various administrative staff and operation positions in multiple facilities in the U.S. and Canada for the paper products division — Transportation/DOT Analyst, Production Coordinator, Facilities Engineer and Business Unit Manager. Team leader for joint P&G and Harvard Business School initiative on how businesses could leverage the integration of new technology with advanced people systems. Before returning to business school, managed a $20 million operating budget, a $2 million capital expansion, and implemented a statistical process control program that increased sales throughput by $6 million in P&G’s Alberta, Canada facility.
